What is Jam Tomorrow?

What is jam tomorrow?

Why is it called Jam Tomorrow?

Like most names in the world, the Jam Tomorrow name comes from our mother. It was a saying she used to say as a way to encourage delaying your reward for something better tomorrow.

Plus who doesn't like jam? 🤤

As time passed I found the original quote was from Alice in wonderland.

"The rule is, jam tomorrow and jam yesterday—but never jam today”

The Queen and Alice have a back and forth about the logic of the statement because today is subjective. You can read a little more in this article here

The meaning I took from this was if you don't have jam today you can have it tomorrow. But when tomorrow comes it will be today.

This perpetual cycle is how a long-term investor should think, that I am investing for tomorrow.

So how does the app work?

We designed our app to allow investors to invest for the long term, in 3 easy steps;

  1. onboarding

First, you must onboard on to our platform and pass our know your customer checks. This ensures we are being compliant with our responsibilities

  1. Select assets to invest in

Choose the assets and how much you want to invest each month

  1. Borrow against the assets

If you need access to the money, you can access 50% of your investment through the use of a credit card. We will then hold your investments (so you won't be able to sell) until you repay the credit you used. Your assets are then returned to you with any gains they have made.

You avoid all sales fees and taxes if you would have sold and used the cash.

Why is this important to you?

Getting started with investing is the hardest thing. There are a lot of frequently asked questions we hear;

  • What should I invest in?
  • How much should I invest?
  • How long should I invest?
  • Will I lose my money?

We found the best thing a new investor can do is pick a broad index like the S&P500 and wait. Around 20 years should do it, then the chance of losing money is 0%.

The problem is most people cannot plan or imagine life 20 years in the future. Most struggle with 1-3 years. Locking up money for that long can be a psychological hurdle to starting investing.

What if you want to buy a car or a house? You could lose money if you don't wait long enough.

We enable our users to remain invested by giving them credit against their assets. No need to sell, focus on long-term investing.

Conclusion

Long-term investing is the key to succeeding financially. To do this we help navigate the short-term complexities life can have so you can achieve your goals.

We are currently partnering with early users to build the Jam Tomorrow experience. If you would like to be part of our early user group, you can sign up on our homepage here.
